The Imperial Faction is a good choice to join for many reasons. It's extremely high tech ships, such as the TIE Defender, and the Imperial Star Destroyer II's dominate battles once researched. Research is vital to the Imperials as going into battle with only TIE Fighters and TIE Bombers will leave the Imperials in a precarious position.

THE IMPERIALS

As the cold winter rises forth from the fall, as has the Empire risen from the Old Republic. Through evil politicians and dark warriors, the Old Republic was twisted, then out rightly manipulated, and finally destroyed. Their quaint little ways and useless ideologies were shattered to make way for a new streamlined, efficient, mighty power... The Galactic Empire.

In it's quest to envelope the Galaxy in it's merciless arms of darkness, only one small blight stands in its way...the pitiful Rebel terrorists. It is only a matter of time before the full weight of the Imperial battle machine comes down to bear on their squid-ships. We have foreseen their fiery doom. It is unavoidable. It is their destiny
